Dharavi Slumdog Millionaire

The focus is on the small scale industries in Dharavi, such as recycling, the making of clay pots, embroidery, bakery, soap factory, leather tanning, papad (poppadom) making and many others, most of which take place in very small spaces. We also pass by the residential areas, where you really get a feel of how the people are living and you see the sense of community that exists in the area.

Day 1 - Arrival at Mumbai

On arrival at Mumbai, check in to the hotel at Dadar and rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2 - Dharavi Tour

After breakfast, proceed to explore local Mumbai and Dharavi. There will be two trips in the day, first at 8:30 am and the second at 2 pm. You are entitled for one trip from the given timings. Going by car one will see the pipes, which is one of the first scenes in the film. A few more places will be covered during the tour which have been shown in the movie. Remaining half of the day will cover Gateway of India, The Prince of Wales Museum, Nehru Planetarium and Science Centre in sightseeing. Back to the hotel in the evening and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3 - End of the tour

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed for your onward journey.
