Nagarhole Park is counted among India's best wildlife parks. It has a large elephant and bison population. It also hosts a variety of animal species along with approximately 250 species of birds. On its northern confines is the Kabini River and on its southern fringes is the Bandipur national park. A dam on the Kabini River and its picturesque reservoir demarcates the two national parks. During the dry season (February-June), this artificial lake attracts a large number of animals, making it an ideal spot for sighting wildlife. Besides this, couple of temples are present inside the Nagarhole Park, the most famous one being dedicated to goddess Durga. Some falls dot the region of the park giving it an interesting landscape. Iruppa Falls are one of the best falls in Nagarhole. Not a place to find too many hotels. However there are a handful hotels in Nagarhole that cater to the needs of the visitors to the park. These Nagarhole hotels provide good comforts and facilities. Most of the hotels in Nagarhole also organize tours and safaris around the park. Food should not be a problem in Nagarhole as almost all the hotels in Nagarhole have their own restaurants. Book a hotel well in advance as there is a dearth of hotels here.
