| This a very charming boutique hotel renovated & restored by the Neemrana group. Its set in a heritage building & the rooms are designed to reflect this character. The furniture & artefacts are all carefully chosen period pieces. All the rooms are individually designed, named after ancient tamil kingdoms. We stayed at the 'surat' which was great, except for the tiny bathroom. We saw the ' mahe' and the 'cannonore' rooms which were also great, but definitely avoid the tiny ' gingee' room.
Staff were courteous & helpful. Theres no room service though, no telephones & some rooms do not have TV's.
The hotel is walking distance from the restaurants & since its set in the French Quarter, its a great place to walk around.
If you want to experience the real feel of Pondy, this is the place to stay |
