We 3 persons (nyself, wife & dauther 14 years are planning to visit Shimla, Kullu & Manali and near by palces during 23-12-2008 to 29-12-2008. We are from Mumbai and planning to come by Paschim Exp to Kalka and then to Shimla by Train. Please suggest further Itinerary to visit Kullu & Manalii by economical mode. and planning return journey from Chandigarh. Please guide on mode of transport for local sight seeing and places.

1. Hi! After arrival at Shimla railway station, you can check in any of the hotels of your choice. The sightseeing points in Shimla city are Jakhoo Temple, Sankat Mochan temple. Indian Institute of Advanced study (viceregal lodge) and around Shimla are Wildflower hall, Kufri, Indira Holiday Home, Fagu, Chail, Mashobra, Naldehra. You can visit these places by local or HP Tourism buses or a taxi. For going to Manali you can go by state transport bus/HP Tourism buses or by taxi. For local sightseeing the transport facilities are the same as already mentioned above. You can go directly to Chandigarh or Delhi from Manali by the same mode. Mohit Sharma Great Himalayan Travels

2. Hi! This is the suggested itinerary:- Day 1 : Leave for Shimla after breakfast at the hotel. En- route visit the Pinjore gardens. Reach Shimla and check into hotel. In the evening leave for Shimla to visit the mall road. Overnight at Shimla. Day 2 : Shimla Local sightseeing of Shimla. Visit Naldera which has the highest Golf course in the world and then visit Fagu. Back to hotel by afternoon. Evening free for independent activity and shopping or just relax at the hotel and enjoy the lights of Shimla. Day 3 : Shimla - Manali Leave, after breakfast, at hotel for Manali. The route goes via Sala Ghat, Bilaspur [ Ghagas ], Sundernagar, Ner Chowk, Mandi, Pandoh, Aut, Bajaura, Bhunter Kullu and finally to Manali. The time taken is 9 to 10 hours. Reach Manali and check into hotel River country/ Ambassador resorts/ Holiday Inn. Each of these hotels have been carefully chosen for their views and the excellent quality offered by them. Day 4 : Manali Full day free in Manali or you can enjoy some soft adventure activities like Paragliding, River Rafting, Rappelling, River crossing etc. Leave for local sightseeing of Manali. Visit the famous Hadimba temple, the Manu temple, Club House etc. Afternoon is free for shopping in the Market. Try to stay at Valley view hotel which is very good. A visit to the mighty Rohtang Pass. It is an imposing pass at a height of 13800 feet and most of the time covered in snow. Leave early at 8.00 a.m. Reach Rohtang Pass at 11.30 am. The bus will go only up to snow point where they are stopped by the army barricade. On the way back have picnic lunch at Marhi and then visit Solang Nallah for Paragliding [Time and weather permitting - Optional] Day 5 : Manali - Chandigarh Leave for Chandigarh after an early breakfast at 7.30 am. Reach Chandigarh by evening and check into hotel. Overnight at Chandigarh. Day 6: Chandigarh - Mumbai Take the train to Mumbai. Tour ends. Thank you. Vivek
