History
Going down the history of Arunachal Pradesh, it dates back to the time when Britishers were ruling the Indian subcontinent. In the year 1826, the British took over Assam. At that point of time, Arunachal Pradesh was a part of Assam. Till the year 1912, the Britishers controlled the region now called Arunachal Pradesh from Assam. Arunachal Pradesh became a Union Territory in 1972 and then, a full-fledged state in February 1987.
Geography

The total land area of Arunachal Pradesh is approximately 83,743 sq. kms. Arunachal Pradesh is situated in the northeastern part of India. It lies between the latitude 26o28’N and 29o30'N and longitudes 91o30’E and 96o30'E. It borders Bhutan on the west, Chine on the north and Myanmar (Burma) on the east and the state of Assam on the south. Arunachal Pradesh is endowed with rich flora and fauna. Abundant tumultuous streams, boisterous rivers, deep gorges, snooty mountains and snow clad shining peaks, characterize the geography of Arunachal Pradesh.

Climate/Temperature
The climatic conditions in Arunachal Pradesh differ from region to region. It varies according to altitude. In the high altitude region, the climate is cold. But in the lower altitudes the climates is really sizzling hot and clammy. In the upper regions the winters are cold and humid while the summers are short. Arunachal Pradesh records a high amount of rainfall. Compared to other states in India, the amount of rainfall is heavier in Arunachal Pradesh. The annual average rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh is more than 300 cm! The rainfall varies from 450 cm in the foothill areas to 80 cm in the upper reaches.
Religions

The religion of the mass of the population of Arunachal Pradesh consists of faith in the subsistence of a high God or Super Natural being and a host of other spirits and deities. The high God is address by various names by different groups of population. Many of the people believe that high God is there on the Earth as well as in the sky. While the high God is perpetually believed to be munificent, the spirits and deities are grouped under two classes - benevolent and malevolent.

Languages Spoken
The three major languages spoken in Arunachal Pradesh are Monpa, Miji and Aka. Other tribal dialects are Hill Miri, Nishi, Sherdukpen, Mishmi, Apatani, Wancho, Dafla and Khamti.
People / Population
The total population of Arunachal Pradesh is approximately 10,96,702. Tribal people constitute nearly seventy percent of the total population of Arunachal Pradesh. The major tribes are Daflas, Monpas, Adis, Akas, Apatanis, Mishmis, Nishis, Noktey, Wangchu and Sherdukpens. Each tribe has its own language, customs and traditions.
