Major travel tips to get maximum fun and satisfaction while visiting Coorg are as follows:

• Coorg can be best enjoyed if you have a vehicle at your disposal.
• Camera is a must and a umbrella can be useful if you don't enjoy getting wet.
• If you are traveling from Bangalore, you can visit Ranganatittu Bird Sanctuary also as it is on the way. Kushalnagar, Harangi Dam and Nisargadhama are also on the way to Madikeri.
• Visit to Nagarhole or Irupu will require at least 6 hours(3+3) travel time from Madikeri. So plan accordingly.
• It is better to book rooms in Coorg well in advance as the rates spike near long weekends and in the season.
• The monsoon in Coorg is almost perennial. So have rain-friendly gear like water-proof footwear.
