The climate of Kodaikanal is pleasurable and congenial all throughout the year. The temperature is never too hot nor too cold. The mercury falls to a minimum of 8 degree in winter and rises to a maximum of 25 degrees in summer. Summers are not to hot and winters are not too cold. Temperature is moderate and pleasant whole of the year. In summer (March to May) the temperature range is 20°C to 11°C, and in winter (Dec-Feb) 17.3°C to 8.3°C. The weather is never too hot nor too cold, though in winter the temperature drops and ice can be seen on the edges of the lake. An average of 165 cms of rain falls every year, mostly during the north-east monsoon occurs from June to September.
