The major getaways from Manali are:

• Village of Vashisht This place is 3 kms from Manali. It is well known for its hot sulphur springs. The village can be reached by road. While going towards the village one can enjoy the lovely panoramic view of the valley. There are two ancient stone temples in the village. They are situated in front of each other. They have intricate wooden carvings. One temple is dedicated to Rama and the other to sage Vashisht, who was Rama’s teacher. Inside the temple compound, there are free public baths with detached sections for men and women. The main attractions of Vashisht temple include the Pyramid center and the Nembutsu center
• Rohtang Pass – Situated about 51 kms from Manali town at an altitude of 4,111 metres (13,400 ft) on the highway to Keylong, is Rohtang Pass. Here one sees the dignity of the mountains at its height and splendor.
• Rahalla Falls About 16 kms from Manali town, at the start of the climb to the Rohtang Pass, are the beautiful Rahalla water falls at an altitude of 2,501 metres (8,500 ft).
