The major attractions of the mesmerizing city of Nainital are:

Snow view To the north east of the city is situated a popular vantage point at an altitude of 2270 meters. This place can be accessed by a variety of modes – Chair lift or Ropeway; horses or mountain ponies and also on foot. You can take any mode you like. On a clear sunny day , when you reach this point with the help of binoculars you can see the resplendent sight of the famous Himalayan ranges like Nanda Devi, Trisul, Nanda Kot. But you need also a clear weather to experience the beautiful sight. So the suggested time for visiting this place is during the months of October and November.

Naini Peak This is another attraction point for tourists. And those who like trekking, they would simply love it. This peak has a height of 2611 meters and is just 5 kilometers away from the Naini Lake. Once you reach on top of this peak the sight is really rejuvenating and takes all worries from your life away. The whole town of Nainital can be seen from here. Also you get a stunning view of the Nanda Devi and other mountains situated on the border of Tibet. You can reach this peak by trekking and also by the help of horses and mountain ponies.

Dorothy’s Seat or Tiffin Top This is an excellent picnic spot which was built in memory of an English artist named Dorothy Kelllet, by her husband and well wishers. This terraced top also gives a panoramic view of thie city of Nainital. This place is just 4 kilometers from the Naini Lake. It has an altitude of 2292 meters and also gives a serene view of the neighboring areas.

Governor’s House or Government House This is not exactly a tourist place but is enlisted here because of its historical significance. It was established in the year 1899. What makes this structure important is the design - the Victorian Gothic domestic style (also called "domestic Gothic") a wonderful work the architect F.W. Stevens. This complex boasts of 113 rooms, swimming pools, golf courses and beautiful gardens. Currently this complex is called the “Raj Bhavan” and is the official guest house for the governor of Uttarakhand.
