Shimla has a lovely and charming climate all through the year. In summers, temperatures hardly ever go beyond 27°C. Summer temperatures are mild and light woolens/cottons are recommended. In winter, the temperature can drop below freezing point when heavy woolens are required. The nights are cool, even in high summer. During monsoons the rains blanket the whole city in a fine mist. During summers, the maximum temperature reached is around 27 degree and minimum temperature recorded is around 14 degrees. In winters the maximum temperature is about 16 degrees and minimum is about 5 degrees. All the seasons of nature visit Shimla during the year. Summers are from May to June. Rainy season is from June to September, autumn from October to November, winter from Dec. to Feb. And finally the spring season is from March to April. Shimla in no way permits the deity to elevate the temperature and the gods always obligate. Shimla changes its moods with the seasons. In spring one can see flowers of all kinds, both wild and cultivated, smiling in each garden. During the monsoon, one can see some of the best sunsets in the world. Winter in Shimla is known as the season of "Long moon-night." It becomes a hoarfrost gleaming silent city.
