Like any other place, Shimla has its own sphere of wonderful things to offer, like handicrafts, wood and metalwork shawls, pullovers, local tweeds, caps, Tibetan carpets and pickle, jams and squashes. Shimla is the paramount souk for the handicrafts of Himachal Pradesh. Woolen and pashmina shawls, decorative items, handmade shoes, dolls, woolen caps, carved wooden sticks, toys and other items made form wood are made in Shimla itself and are on sale in the Lakkar Bazar. Tibetan jewellery and trinkets are found in the small Tibetan shops near the Ridge in Shimla. There is no dexterity definite to this region. But the princely city has many items to sell like the famous Kullu shawls, caps and silver jewellery.
